Quinn is 7 months old already!!!

Wow!!! My baby girl is 7 months old already! She is weighing in at 17 pounds 15.5 ounces! She is growing every single day! She loves eating food such as peas, green beans, pears, prunes, squash, and carrots!  I just made my first batch of baby food, baby carrots and she absolutely loved them! She wouldn't eat the pre made baby food carrots! Quinn Everlea is crawling around everywhere and standing along things! She loves playing with her brother, kohlton, and playing with his toys:)  finally in the last week almost two weeks she has been sleeping much better! We have put her on a schedule to keep her sleeping better:) who would have known that all she needed was a schedule! Lol That is much easier now too because we aren't near as busy!!!

She loves standing :)

This was the reaction I got when I told her all the homemade carrots were gone! Lol poor baby!!! I do tell her grandpa and daddy that she is crying because of those ugly packer colors she is wearing:) lol

Love this little girl!!

Lincoln highway days

This weekend was Lincoln highway days here in Nevada! Kohlton had a blast
Grandpa and aunt Carley came down and we went to the parade even in the rain! Boy, did it pay off! It was over an hour long and kohlton got more candy than a three year old should!
He also got to ride on a train for awhile and had so much fun!
There were also inflatables that he got to play on a few times!!
Quinn just kinda hung out!!! Lol

I know I haven't updated this since miss Quinn Everlea was born and I entend to get everything updated! A friend told me about the blogger app so hopefully this helps a ton with keeping things updated a little better! :) much more updates to come:)

Week 35: February 11-21, 2014

Well its crazy to think she is almost here.  It has been a long but at the same time fast 9 months.

How Far Along? 36 weeks 2 days

Baby's Size: Honey Dew (measuring in at around 17.2-18.7 inches long and 4.2-5.8 pounds)

Total Weight Gain: I gained another 3 pounds these last two weeks so the total comes to 26 pounds.

Stretch marks: I have gotten some new ones on my sides.

Sleep: Its still really difficult. Now its more difficult to get up out of bed to go the the restroom. Its also pretty painful to switch sides in the middle of the night.

Best moment this week. I had 4 non stress tests, an ultrasound, and my regular appointment.  I am really enjoying my non stress tests because not only do I get a little peace and quiet but I get to listen to baby girls heart beat for about an hour to two sometimes. I can never get enough of that.  Another fun moment this week was that my parents and sister came up to see us. Kohlton had a great time playing with them :)

Miss Anything: Personally, at this point I'm missing pretty much everything. I miss my normal body, I haven't gotten used to sticking out so far and tend to hit my belly on things. I miss sleeping (which I know won't get better when she get here but at least I'll be comfortable.) I miss eating, with my gestational diabetes I'm rather limited to what I can and can not eat compared to what I was with Kohlton's pregnancy. It has almost made eating a chore and sometimes makes me not want to eat (obviously I do anyway for the sake of myself and my child) it has just gotten very boring and very bland.

Movement: All the time, including in the middle of the night. Also if I talk to Chris in the middle of the night or when he gets up to go to work in the morning, she will hear our voices and wake up. It will take a little while for her to finally go back to sleep enough for me to go back to sleep as well.

Cravings: I'm pretty much craving everything I can't have at this point. I'm really craving Pancheros and fruit ( which tend to drive up my sugars)

Sick: Nope, not really

Labor Pains: I've been having tons of contractions

Symptoms: I'm having contractions on a regular basis, my feet tend to swell sometimes, and it hurts to get up sometimes. I've also had bad acid reflux these last few weeks but nothing that a little sitting up and tums can't cure.  I also feel since Tuesday, baby girl has dropped. Its so much easier to breathe and I have more pressure on my lower back and hips :) She is gearing up to come but lets just hope she stays put until the beginning of March.

Wedding Ring: Off

Belly Button: Out

Looking forward to? Meeting our little girl and enjoying these last few weeks as just a family of three. I plan to spend lots and lots of quality time together before everything gets crazy busy again.

Summary of this week:

Well this week has been a pretty stressful week for our household. I had my first non stress test on Tuesday the 11th. When I go to a non stress test they hook me up to monitors to watch the baby's heart beat. They want to make sure that when she moves her heart rate goes up and when she isn't moving it goes down.  Basically what its like when we exercise and our heart rate goes up its exactly the same concept.  I have to go to these because my gestational diabetes is so much more all over the place than what it was with Kohlton's pregnancy. Anyway, during my first session they noticed that I was having a lot of contractions. As in they were a minute long and coming every 3-4 minutes. So they had me drink lots and lots of water and told me to take it super easy for at least the next week. At this point I was only 34 weeks and 6 days so they would have had to give me a shot to stop the labor, at 36 weeks they wouldn't stop the labor if she would decide to come.  So they pretty much put me on bed rest to make sure she didn't come. I stopped doing everything.  Hats off to my amazing husband who did everything (dishes, laundry, taking care of Kohlton when he got home, got me things when I needed them, cooked all our meals, and was just down right amazing). I had another NST on the 14th (Happy Valentines Day)! This one went much better than the first one. I was still having contractions every 9-13 minutes but still much better than every 3-4.  After I got back from that appointment I didn't leave the house again until Tuesday morning the 18th for my regular appointment. I had my ultrasound first to see about how big she was. I didn't get any good pictures because she is so tight in there now.  When I went in to my ultrasound I was 35 weeks 6 days, she was measuring in at about 36 weeks 5 days, weighing an estimate of 6 pounds 12 ounces (give or take a pound). Then I had my regular appointment following my ultrasound and she said everything was looking great. She also checked to see if I was dilated mainly because I asked since I was having so many contractions that last week. She didn't think I would be but sure enough I was already at 4 cm.! She said since I was 36 weeks she could come pretty much any day (hoping it wasn't on the 22nd since she was going to be out of town.  lol )

I've had two more NSTs and they have looked fantastic.  I have also graduated from every two week appointment to every week now so my next appointment for both the doctor and the NST is this coming Tuesday!

Since baby girl can come any day we have everything ready to go so now all we have to do is relax and play the fun little game of waiting.  :)

Week 32-34- January 22- February 11, 2014

Well baby girl weighs around 4 3/4 pound and measures in at around 18 inches long (according to babycenter.com)

How far along: finishing up my 34th week of pregnancy... only 5 more weeks to go! YAY!!!

Baby's Size: about the size of a butternut squash

Total Weight Gain: I gained 3 pounds at my last appointment which brings in the total to about 23 pounds. Which is pretty much right on track with what I gained with Kohlton's pregnancy.

Stretch marks: Well apparently I've had lots more than I could see. haha!!! I basically can't see below my belly button and learned that there are some hiding below that point. haha.... Oh the joys of pregnancy.

Sleep: Much much more difficult. You can only sleep on your left and right side and by the morning  (between 3:30-5:30) my sides are so incredibly sore that I can't sleep anymore. I also find in the middle of the night that I'm up for about an hour or two because I can't shut my mind off. lol!!

Best Moment this week: I had my doctor's appointment on the 4th and my best friend and her family decided to come up and see us. They came up Friday night and we all went swimming in their hotel pool and had pizza. The kids had so much fun!! Even Kohlton with the glove on his hand that he had to wear. It took Kohlton a little while to finally get into the pool (they had a kiddy pool there) but once he did it was super hard to get him out. lol. Then on Saturday, Heather and I went out and got pedicures since well I can't really see my feet or even reach them very well. lol... Heather's husband did a great job of watching all 3 tired kids while we got our toes done :)

Miss Anything: At this point I'm missing a regular, healthy diet. Since I have Gestational Diabetes with this pregnancy again like I did with Kohlton's there is so much more that I can't eat. When I was pregnant with Kohlton the only thing I couldn't eat was cereal but this little girl is making it much more difficult. I can't have cereal, bread, pizza, pretty much any kinds of grains what so ever, and even fruit spikes my blood sugars. So in 5 ish weeks I will be eating tons of grains and fruit especially apples and bananas.

Movement: Always!! Sometimes it can get pretty painful too since she is running out of room. :)

Cravings: Cookie Dough! The best part about this is that my father in law and I were watching TV on Sunday and they were making cookie dough with applesauce instead of eggs so it can be eaten plain. So within the hour we had made a trip to get some supplies and made it. So so good. (yes its not something I should be eating with my GD). lol  I also crave pretty much everything I can't have: fruit, alcohol, deep dish pizza, Mexican, and a buffet of some kind or another :)

Sick: Nope not really. The only time I feel sick is when my blood sugar is to high and I need to do some exercise and/or drink some water.

Labor Pains: Lots and Lots of Braxton Hick contractions! I've learned that if I do to much during the day then I get even more.

Symptoms? I'm getting some acid reflex due to the baby growing and squishing everything inside, my feet are also getting swollen much quicker, and I find myself with lots of fatigue and I'm exhausted all the time. My sides are also falling asleep during the night making it difficult to sleep. ( I never had any of this with Kohlton's pregnancy so its all new and not cool for me)

Wedding ring on or off? Its on when I go out into public for the most part but when I'm at home I tend to take it off just because I'm washing my hands so much.

Happy or Moody: I've been a little of each...

Looking forward to:  Making our final preparations and baby girl getting here.

These last few weeks summaries:

I had my appointment on the 4th and everything looks great. I measured in at 35 weeks, so a week bigger but her heartbeat was great at around 150. The doctor had also given me two extra weeks to figure out my blood sugars and I was only over a few during those two weeks so that made her really happy. There was no talk of putting me on any kind of medications at this point which made me really happy.  But because my Gestational Diabetes is so much harder/more complicated that what it was with Kohlton's pregnancy, she is having me go to the hospital twice a week for Non Stress Tests.
My first one is tomorrow (Tuesday the 11th). I'll be going in on Tuesdays and Fridays for the rest of my pregnancy. ( I set it up on Tuesdays and Fridays so that Chris can watch Kohlton on Tuesdays and I then only have to find a sitter for Fridays.)  Also to make sure she isn't getting too big they have set up an ultrasound for the 18th of this month. I'm super super excited to see her again and hoping to find out if she has hair or not so I can find some more bows or headbands :)  This week we also got our bags somewhat packed for that day, registered at the hospital, got the crib mostly ready, started organizing our room to make room for her, and got all of her clothes washed/dried/put away! It felt so good to get a few things off our checklist taken care of.  But I still have a few more things to accomplish before she gets here:
    1. Install our car seat (which we won't do until the very last minute)
    2. Have a last date night with Chris because I know there won't be many of those in the future
    3. figure out who is going to watch Kohlton when that time comes
    4. Put some music onto my phone just for something to do during labor
    5. figure out what she is going to come home in :)
    6. make a few freezer meals
Not a ton to get done and all doable in the next 5 weeks.

Kohlton:

Kohtlon's hand is healing wonderfully according to me of course. We have been using just a band aid and then Friday night we took it off to let it air out a little and haven't put it back on. He has his 2 week post surgery check up on Thursday. Hopefully the doctor thinks everything is healing well as well.  The surgery didn't slow him down a single bit. He is still super full of energy. We are also almost done with his ear infection medication as well. We gave it to him the first day, he took a nap, and woke up a completely different kid.  We have also started potty training just a little bit. We'll hopefully hit it hard this week and the next because we don't have much going on. He does a decent job of telling us but sometimes he is just wanting to play on the potty rather than actually go on the potty. That's a boy for you, I guess.  He has also graduated from taking a nearly 3 hour nap everyday to only taking about an hour to an hour and a half hour nap.  I'm just hoping when baby girl comes that I can get her to sleep at the same time but I think that may be wishful thinking.

Kohlton's Surgery and Recovery!

Well Kohlton's surgery went great! It didn't slow him down much at all actually.  Chris and I got up around 6:00 that morning to make sure everything was ready and all we had to do was get Kohlton up right before we left. We got Kohlton up at about 6:25 and was out of the apartment by 6:35.  He was not very excited to be awake so early but was still very ready to go.  Right when we got to the clinic and after I filled out all of the paperwork they took us to a kids room, which was really nice. It was farmyard themed and there were a few toys in there for him to play with. They had us change him into his hospital gown and some socks.
Our little patient is ready to go!
This is what Kohlton's thumb looked like before surgery

They later came in to get his vitals and what not. The doctors and nurses were all very nice and Kohlton wasn't afraid of them at all. The nurse came in and gave him something so that he would be kinda loopy so it would be as scary leaving us when it was time for him to go.  After they gave him the medicine he calmed down and it was kinda funny because he was acting silly. He could barely walk and was talking funny.

Finally they came and got him. I'm so grateful at that point that our pastor came to sit with us. He really helped me keep my mind off of what was actually happening.  The doctor came back to get us to let us know how everything went. He said everything went great and then gave us instructions on how to treat the wound and what not. We then proceeded back to the waiting area to wait for Kohlton to come out of anesthesia, we were told it could take 10 minutes to an hour all depending on how they were reacting to it. We got called within 5 minutes of sitting down. We were went back there we would hear Kohlton crying and a nurse was holding him in his diaper wrapped in a blanket. That was the first point of where I wanted to cry. I then took him and he tried to get the bandage off as well as the iv out of his other arm. I didn't realize how strong he was. haha.  He cried for nearly 30 minutes before we could get him calmed down.  He was extremely thirsty and hungry so we gave him apple juice/water, applesauce, a Popsicle, and part of a cookie. Of course he didn't eat all of that but he did drink about half a liter of liquids.  The first time he grabbed for his cup with is hand he just screamed. The nurse finally gave him Ibuprofen and that helped a ton. Finally he decided he was okay enough to go to daddy.

They were watching Princess Sofia! haha...

The nurse came in to take out his IV. He did this very well :)

Even got his blood pressure taken!
After they did all this they gave him the okay to go home. We were home by around 10 that morning. Kohlton came home with two more stuffed animals ( a teddy bear and a tiger) and two new books for being such a brave little boy.

Once we got home he did a great job of keeping it elevated.
But since I have a little boy of course he was back to his normal self by about noon. Daddy was home so all he wanted to do was rough play :) lol... Which about gave me a heart attack every time because I didn't want him to hurt his hand obviously.
After Kohlton took his nap he just wanted to curl up on the couch

or with Daddy!

And don't forget some Mommy cuddles!

If you can't tell Chris fell asleep (which never happens)
He is going to kill me when he sees I posted this lol

Kohlton was also spoiled and the other Sunday School teacher sent him some balloons
and Oreo cookies :)

This is Kohlton moving his thumb the next morning :)

A week after his surgery Kohlton is back to normal for the most part we still have a gauze bandage on his hand because he won't keep just a band-aid on it, which is fine with me since he is a little bit of a wild man. I had my doctor look at it yesterday at my appointment and she said it was looking good. So we go back to the surgeon on Feb. 13 for a two week checkup.  We did have to make a run to urgent care on Sunday because Kohlton had a double ear infection but other than that he is my normal happy little boy.

I want to thank you all for all of your thoughts and prayers as we went through this little journey. They were very much appreciated and we thank you.

Dropping a Quick Post!

Well I'm going to give a quick summary of our week, not going in too big of depth since I'm trying to get everything ready for Kohlton's surgery tomorrow..

Well I was 32 weeks this last week and everything is going great! My blood sugars have been pretty good I've only gone over 2 times in 7 days testing 3 times a day. So they are getting better. I've figured out that if I work out a little bit after eating that helps too. I think I'm going to start walking stairs in our apartment building since I can do that with Kohlton.  I've still been having lots of Braxton Hicks contractions, I had quite a few this morning with all the walking around I did at the grocery store. As for Kohlton's surgery I'm making sure I'm getting everything done so that we can have lots of mommy/kohlton time in the next few days filled with hopefully not a lot of pain and lots of mess free fun!

As for Kohtlon:  Surgery on his trigger finger (well trigger thumb) is tomorrow morning. We have to be there at 7. Its a super fast surgery and surprisingly I'm pretty calm right now. I have to make sure I stay as calm as possible and stress free for both me and the baby.  I do find myself stress eating tho, which with diabetes is pretty hard since I can't eat what ever I want when ever I want.  Anyway back to Kohlton. They are going to make a super small incision on his hand just below his thumb which will then be either sown back together or glued I'm not quite sure what the doctor is feeling to do.  I've stocked up on easy to eat foods, fun games that are mess free, and lots of mommy time.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers as he has surgery and as he recovers.

I'll post a more in depth post after a few days of recovery :)  Plus more updates on the baby fun!

Week 31 January 15-21

Well, its that time of the week again and I'm actually getting time to sit down to quickly write this :)

Baby girl is about 16 inches long and around 3.33 pounds.  All of her five senses are in working order and her eyes are now sensitive to light. She is also going through some major brain and nerve development.

How Far Along? 31 weeks! Only 9 weeks or less to go!!!

Baby's Size: Pineapple

Total Weight Gain: 20 pounds! I didn't gain anything over the last two weeks, which mean I've only gained 2 pounds since December 17.

Maternity Clothes: Yes everything!

Stretch marks: Starting to get more on my legs.

Sleep: I'm still getting up every couple of hours to go to the restroom and once baby girl is awake and moving I'm also awake. A few mornings ago she decided to get up when Chris left at 4:45 in the morning. Not cool when Kohlton doesn't normally wake up until at least 8:15 at the earliest.

Best Moment this week! I had my appointment yesterday and everything was looking great! Kohlton go to come with me this time and he got to hear baby's heartbeat.  He understood that we were at the doctor to check on the baby because we were in the middle of the appointment he tries to lift my shirt and says I see baby:) It was super cute.

Miss Anything? This week its not food but I'm missing my normal body. I'm really missing getting on the floor and playing with Kohlton or even the simple task of cuddling with him in bed and then getting out of bed.

Movements: Always! I'm feeling her hiccups now too... such a funny feeling... I believe she is head down because I feel her hiccups in my butt. lol. I can't help but laugh when she gets them.

Cravings: Mexican sounds really good to me right now. The only problem is that most things have a ton of carbs in them so I have to stay away from it. Which is very depressing.

Sick: The only time I feel sick is when my blood sugar is to high.

Labor Pains: I'm still having Braxton Hicks contractions still. If I move around to much or do to much then I'm exhausted the entire next day.

Symptoms? There is a lot that is getting harder to do.  Sadly I think I'm going to have to give up my evening baths. Its harder to get out of the tub plus my skin is so dry that I can't seem to keep up with it. I stocked up at Bath and Body Works a few weeks ago so now I get to put that all to good use.

Belly Button In or Out? Out! Chris makes fun of me all the time! He keeps saying "Babe, You're turkey is done! " Love him still tho.

Wedding Ring on or off? Still off because its at the jewelers.

Happy or Moody? Mostly happy I think! Moody at times of course. What pregnant woman doesn't!

Looking Forward to? Getting this next week over! My 2 1/2 year old son is having surgery next Wednesday so I'm ready for the stress of that to be over and him to be okay. But in the mean time I'm going to enjoy my energetic, loving, naughtily cute, little boy.

Summary of this week:

Getting ready for baby girl:
This week I got all of her clothes washed and put into tubs so that they stay clean. I'm also in the process of packing my books and things in order to make room for her in our room.  We are also going to transform my big bookshelf into a dresser type thing that I found on pinterest. I've also started getting our bags packed for when that day comes.

I also had my 32 week appointment yesterday. I've been really frustrated with my gestational diabetes this time around. I talked to my doctor and they aren't going to put me on medicine or anything just yet because she think my blood sugar will be too low then and I'll feel horrible. So that's good, it give me another 2 weeks to try to figure out what this is all about and why my sugars spike. My next appointment is on Feb. 4.  She also told me that we'll do an ultrasound at my 36 week appointment to make sure she isn't getting to big. If she is getting a little big she will put me on medicine and probably induce me around 39 weeks.  We'll see what happens.

Kohlton:
Well Kohlton has been a rather difficult little boy this week. He is hitting his 2 year old attitude. He is also the king of pouting  which isn't good because with my soft heart with this pregnancy.. I cave half the time. (Which I know isn't good)  We talked to the surgery center on Monday and got more information about Kohlton's upcoming left thumb trigger finger release surgery.  We ask for lots of prayer for Kohlton has he has to go through this and prayers for us as we have to sit in the waiting room:(  We have to be there at 7:00 am on Wednesday the 29th.  Also pray for the us as we have to sit in the waiting room. I already find myself trying to keep busy so that I don't have to think about it. Pray for the recovery and that we can keep him "contained" as we are in the hospital as well as when we get home. Hoping he keeps the bandage on. The first few days I'm assuming will be very relaxed and a lot of movies and games will be played in trying to keep the bandage on as long as possible.

Thanks everyone for the prayers this week. I'll post either early next week or late due to the attention I'll have to give to Mr. Kohlton :)

Week 30 January 8-14

Only 10 Weeks to Go!!! :) YAY!!!

Well Baby Girl is about 15.7 inches long and weighs around 3 pounds! Her eyesight is continuing to develop tho even when she is born she will only be able to see things a few inches from her face.

How far along? 30 weeks!

Size of Baby: a large cabbage

Total Weight gain: Still around 20 ish pounds (since I have gestational diabetes again with this pregnancy, it has really cut down on how much weight I'm gaining to help with how big the baby gets as well.)

Maternity Clothes: Yep, everything

Stretch marks? All of my first pregnancy stretch marks are starting to reappear:( Sad day!

Sleep? This week I haven't had any leg cramps which has helped a ton with my sleeping. I do find tho that by the morning my sides are killing me because I switch between my left and right sides to sleep.

Best Moment this week? Kohlton walks up to me and puts his hand on my bell and says "Feel Her!" I say "Sorry hunny she is sleeping" "Sleeping Why?" It was so cute! He then proceeded to say nigh nigh and gave my belly a big hug!

Miss Anything? I don't think so.

Movement? Always! When do I not feel her is the real question!

Cravings? Popsicle! I found some that are only 4 carbs per popsicle! I'm completely head over heels in love with them.

Sick? Nope :)

Labor Pains: I think I've been having a few Braxton Hick Contractions! I know I say think because I don't remember having them with Kohlton's pregnancy. At first I thought she was just pushing super hard on me but now that I think about it I'm pretty sure they are Braxton Hicks!

Symptoms? I've been feeling pretty good! I'm just exhausted by the end of the day. I also find it hard to get up off the floor or even the couch!

Belly Button in or out? Out! Chris keeps making fun of me by saying my turkey is done:0 lol

Wedding Ring on or Off?  A little bit of both but currently off because its at the jewelers getting a good clean:)

Happy or Moody? Both!

Looking Forward to? having an appointment next week and getting ready for baby girl's arrival!

This weeks Summary:

Well we have had a very busy week!  On Tuesday evening Kohlton burned the end of his left thumb, which I'm so glad happened because it made me realize that we have an even bigger problem. Kohlton's left thumb doesn't go straight. At the top joint it just doesn't move after that. So I called the doctor Wednesday morning and we got in that afternoon. They said he had trigger finger and they couldn't do anything until he was a teenager and was done growing. But to be sure they sent us to a hand specialist. We had an appointment Thursday at 1 pm.  Turns out if they wait to correct it, Kohlton might lose full function in his thumb because the tendon will continue to tighten making his thumb nonfunctional.  So now my little baby has to have surgery! Its a super quick procedure where they just have to clip the tendon. But Kohlton will have to be under anesthesia.  We have the surgery scheduled for January 29th first thing in the morning!  Prayers are needed for our family!

On a higher note: Chris and I got a date night! Monday night we went to Texas Roadhouse and enjoyed a delicious meal then we did a little shopping at Target. I wanted to do some walking to make me feel better!  Chris's boss and his wife were so nice to watch Kohlton for a couple hours!  Tuesday: We went to the mall to do some more walking but walking at the mall gets me in trouble at the same time. I found a cute little dress for baby girl:) oh well.

I'm pretty proud of myself to get this up so quickly since today is the first day of my 31st week! Only 9 more weeks to go :)  YAY!!!

Week 27-29!

Baby Girl is about 2 1/2 pounds in weight and 15 inches long from head to toes. Baby Girls muscles and lungs are maturing and her head is growing bigger to hold that very important developing brain.

How Far Along? 27-29 weeks

Size of Baby: at about 29 weeks is the size of a butternut squash

Total Weight gain: around 20 pounds ( I gained only 2 pounds in the last week)

Maternity Clothes: Yep everything I'm wearing is maternity.

Stretch Marks: I'm starting to get a few on my sides. I had them with Kohlton's pregnancy but they are starting to reappear again.

Sleep: Its getting more and more difficult, between getting up to use the restroom all the time, getting uncomfortable, and getting my horrible leg cramps, I don't sleep for more than an hour or two.

Best moment these few weeks? We got to go spend some time with my family in Leighton, where we got to celebrate Christmas, see a few friends, and we went sledding (well Kohlton went sledding)

Miss Anything? I miss pretty much everything. I really have to watch what I eat now.

Movement? All the time, most of the time its to the point where I have to push her back in.  Kohlton also asks a lot to feel her. He says "Feel Her"

Cravings? My biggest craving I had was for a burger and when I got it, it was the most amazing burger I've ever had in my whole life.

Sick: Nope!

Labor Pains: Nope!

Symptoms? I'm having tons of leg cramps in the middle of the night. I also feel huge. I'm officially up to my weight I was with Kohlton just before I had him.  I'm also carrying her much lower so I know I have a waddle and sometimes I forget I have a bigger belly so i tend to bump into things more often.  I get uncomfortable very quickly and I'm getting a lot of dry skin.

Belly Button In or Out? Out

Wedding Ring On or Off? Off: I have to wear it on my necklace.

Happy or Moody? Both!

Looking forward to: Getting the apartment ready for baby girl. Also I'm looking forward to enjoying extra quality time with Chris and Kohlton.

Summary of the past few weeks:

We got to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas just the three of us this year! It was really nice to sit  around and be lazy for a day just as a family. We spent the day watching tv and playing with Kohlton. At night we watched Turbo and ate popcorn.

I also had my 2nd glucose test where sadly I didn't pass again, but the bright side was that I made it completely through the 3 hours with out have to get sick. I went to a diabetes meeting just to freshen up on the information and then got started. This time around has been much harder than it was with Kohlton's pregnancy. I have to watch what carbs I eat even more closely than I did with Kohlton. Its been making me quite frustrated with trying to figure out what foods are going to spike my blood sugar and what foods won't. I've figured out that I can't eat the same breakfast every morning, after about  mornings that food will spike my sugar.

So Chris took vacation from January 1-5 to spend Christmas with my family in Leighton. Little did we know that he would have a few days off before that.  We think Chris got food poisoning on Monday and was sick all day Tuesday. He finally felt a little better Tuesday night but didn't get his full appetite back until Sunday.

We spent the January 1-5 in Pella. Wednesday we had our annual New Years Day Party and had a blast.  Thursday we went out to eat at Checkerboard with a few friends from Indianola that we hadn't seen in awhile. Friday was a big day for me. I went out with my friend Heather to Des Moines to do a little shopping and have a mommy morning out. It was so much fun to spend time with her. Then I got home just in time to leave to go see my sister's school.  I know that she may be only 3 years younger than me but seeing her classroom made me even more aware that she is a grown up. Haha.  Saturday we spent the day with my family. We woke up and had our Christmas.  Kohlton was spoiled rotten. He got some tractors, clothes, books, a curious George and Thomas pillow cases (that Lexi made for him), Markers, matching game, and last but not least he got a toy vacuum. He played with it all the rest of the day.  We also went sledding. Well grandpa, aunt Carley, and Kohlton went sledding behind the 4-wheeler. Kohlton had a great time and was sad when he had to come inside but that didn't last long because he had a cool tractor and vacuum to play with. lol.

Then I had my 30 week baby appointment yesterday and everything looked great!  I only gained 2 pounds over the last 3 weeks and baby was moving like crazy. lol

Now that the holidays are over I'll be able to keep this more updated :)
Opening Presents from Mommy and Daddy

Week 26!

Baby girl is about 14 inches long and weighs about 1 2/3 pounds. Her ears are so much more sensitive to the point where she can hear both my voice as well as Chris and Kohlton's voice.

How far along? 26 weeks

Size of baby girl? about the size of a head of lettuce.

Total Weight Gain: about 17 pounds (sadly 8 pounds since November 19)

Maternity Clothes? Yes everything I wear is now maternity.

Stretch Marks? Still no new ones. I'm making sure that I'm putting on lotion all the time.

Sleep? So much harder this last week. I can't get comfortable and once I do I have to get up to go to the bathroom or Kohlton wakes up or Baby starts moving.

Best Moment this week? We put up our Christmas tree and have been enjoying watching lots of Christmas movies. Also Kohlton got to feel her. We were sitting on the couch watching cartoons and she kicked him. I said did you feel her and he looked at me with a huge smile on his face and said YA :)

Miss Anything? Cookie dough again... the only reason for this is because Chris ate one right in front of me.  I also really miss sleeping.

Movement? All the Time!!!  Most of the time when I'm trying to sleep.. lol... She has also had some very powerful gabs that really hurt!

Cravings? Well with Kohlton's pregnancy I had gestational diabetes so I was craving everything that I know I'm not going to be able to have.  So over the last week I've been eating a lot of bread, apples, bananas, ice cream, and chocolate.

Sick? Nope not at all :)

Labor signs? Nope!

Symptoms?  I'm having lots of back pain, also having leg cramps in the middle of the night, and I'm not sleeping at all.. I've had to take a nap most days and can't keep my eyes open past 9 pm.

Belly Button In or Out? Out.

Wedding Ring on or off? I've taken it off. Its starting to get a little tight so I've put it on a necklace to wear.

Happy or Moody? I've been both.

Looking forward to? Christmas. We don't have plans to go anywhere so we are going to stay at home and spend time together as a family.

This last week Summary!

This last week Chris took half a weeks vacation just to hang out with Kohlton and me. It was really nice to have him home so we got lots of things done. We moved things around to fit some of baby girl's things in, which has me really excited to start organizing.  I also had my one hour glucose test on Tuesday December 17 and didn't pass, which is what I was expecting since I had gestational diabetes with Kohlton's pregnancy.  So I have my 3 hour test on Friday December 20.  I'm not excited for it at all but I need to look on the bright side that its 3 hours of peace and quiet with no Kohlton yelling "mom" at me. lol I'm sure I'll miss him like crazy but I plan to hopefully get a lot done during those three hours you know in between getting my blood drawn.

21-25 Weeks

Wow! I can't believe its been about a month since I updated out blog. Its been a super crazy busy month and I'm going to summarize everything.

As for baby girl she is about 13 1/2 inches long and weighs about a pound and a half, about the size of a rutabaga or head of cauliflower.  She is starting to look more like a newborn due to her skin smoothing out and she is starting to add on some baby fat.

How far along? 25 weeks

Size of the baby? Rutabaga or head of cauliflower

Total Weight gain: I've been gaining about a pound a week. So I'm guessing around 15 pounds so far.

Maternity clothes? Absolutely!!!

Stretch marks? No new ones but the old ones are starting to appear more so its hello Cocoa Butter :)

Sleep? Its much harder to get comfortable. I've had to start putting a pillow under my belly so that my ribs aren't killing me by morning.

Best moment these last few weeks? Chris got to feel our baby girl as well as the rest of my family.

Miss anything? Sleeping on my stomach and back (which I never thought I would say). I've also missed getting a full nights sleep. There are lots of potty breaks in middle of the night.

Movement? When is she not moving is the question. She is a sweetheart tho and doesn't move during the night when I'm sleeping.

Cravings? The last few day its been fruit such as apples, bananas, and clementines. I'm trying to eat everything I won't be able to eat if I have gestational diabetes again.

Sick? Some, mostly when I'm traveling tho.

Labor signs? Nope

Symptoms? I learned that I can't eat mushrooms because they give me horrible cramps, which is very sad because I love mushrooms.

Belly button in or out.? Its out. You can see it through most of my clothes.

Wedding Ring on or off? Mostly on!

Happy or Moody? Both over the past few weeks.

Looking forward to? Our last Christmas as a family of three. We are staying at home to enjoy each others company. We plan to start making our own family traditions :)

Summary of the past month:

Well I had an appointment on the 19th of November and everything looked great. Her heart was beating right along at about 150 beats per minute. I gained about 4 pounds in a little over a months time so I'm doing great. I hot my next appointment set up for December 17 which is when I get to take that wonderful glucose test. Yay! NOT!!  I'm so worried I'm going to fail like I did with Kohlton but at the same time I know this is better for baby girl.

Kohlton and I took a trip to Pella to spend time with my family for the holidays.  We were there for 11 days and they were jammed packed with family time, seeing friends, and  holiday things. The first Thursday, Kohlton went and spent sometime with our friends Emma and Ella for the day, while I went to see my sister sing in Ames.  It was a long exhausting day but I had a great time and I know Kohlton had a great time playing with Emma and Ella :) Friday we spent trying to recover from our two very busy days. Saturday we hung out at my parents house then had a Thanksgiving that night. Kohlton had a great time running around with his cousins.

Sunday we went to church and then I spent a few hours at night going out to eat with my girl friends. It was so great to see them all.  Monday Kohlton and I spent the morning with my friend Kristin and her children. Then Monday night we had a house warming party for my friend:) Tuesday we went to see my grandparents and then went to the chiropractor for Kohlton. He had been up most nights so I thought hey he hasn't been adjusted since August I'll take him in. It was then that night that I found he was pushing though his two year old molars. He had one through and another one in the process of breaking the skin.
Kohlton building blocks with Grandma

Wednesday my friend, Heather, and her girls came over to play in the morning and then Uncle Danny and Aunt Carley came home Wednesday night when we went to church.  Thursday we spent time at home. Kohlton got to help Grandpa and Uncle Danny work on putting grandpa's barn up. It was super cute. He even got to drive the tractor around.
He looks so grown up!

These are the overall I wore when I was little. :)

He had so much fun helping!

:) I'm not sure if you can tell but he is wearing socks on his hands. For the life of me I couldn't find his mittens.

We had our Thanksgiving dinner at night followed by the Farming Game. Bright and Early Friday morning we went black Friday shopping.  I've worked in retail so I always avoided Black Friday but this was the first year I got to go with family so I went. I was exhausted by the end but still had a great time. I got a few Christmas presents for Kohlton and some much needed pillows for our apartment.  Saturday we had our Christmas on the Nunnikhoven side at night since Grandpa and Grandma leave for Arizona.  We had a ton of fun. Our last day there was Sunday, we went to church, packed our car and came home. but right before we left Grandpa and Grandma gave Kohlton a Christmas present because they thought he needed it before the new year began.
They gave him Santa's Little Helper pajamas.

Kohlton is helping daddy make muffins:)

Kohlton and I were so excited to see Chris.  Kohlton was pretty much attached to him for a few days after. lol

So I think that wraps up our month.  I plan to keep this updated from now on since I'm not going anywhere for awhile now :)

Week 20! Oct. 30- Nov. 5

Baby Girl weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now and about 6 1/2 from head to bottom. She is swallowing a lot more these days which is great for her digestive system. We are officially half way to getting to meet this beautiful little girl!!

How far along? 20 Weeks!  Half Way There!!!

Baby is the size of a: Banana

Total Weight Gain? I'm thinking around 10-12 pounds. But I have an appointment in a few weeks so we'll see for sure.

Maternity clothes: Yep, even my sweatpants are starting to get tight.

Stretch marks? just the small ones on the side of my legs

Sleep? Okay! I find that I'm awake for about 2 hours in the middle of the night for no good reason.

Best Moment this week?  We got our first baby girl shirt that I ordered about 2 weeks before we found out it was a girl, which was even more exciting since I was right :)

Miss Anything? No, not that I can think of.

Movement: A Ton!!!

Cravings? Salads and sweet tarts. (not together)

Sick? Nope I'm feeling fantastic

Gender: GIRL!!

Labor Signs: Yes :( I started having back pain early in the night and then evetually moved into severe contractions that brought me to my knees, eventually they quite. I called the doctor the next morning and the doctor said to just make sure I still feel her through out the day.

Symptoms: I've been feeling great. I've had a few headaches but they always go away pretty quickly.

Belly Button in or out? Officially out.

Wedding Ring on or off? On

Happy or Moody most of the time? I've been a little of both this week.

Looking forward to? Chris getting to feel the baby :)

Kohlton:

This year Kohlton was James the Tank Engine.  He did get a little scared this year.  When we went to trunk or treat at church he wasn't a huge fan of the people dressed like witches and there was a broom that moved around the area and scared him a ton.

Sorry its not a very good picture.

Scared of the broom rolling around near by.

Kohlton got to play pumpkin bowling. He had so much fun.

Happy Halloween everyone!
This is Kohlton's friend Katelyn, she was dressed as a witch. Cutest witch I've ever seen :)

Kohlton loves to help mommy with the cleaning. He also reminds me all the time.
We also went trick or treating on Halloween night around Chris' boss's neighborhood. Kohlton did  a great job and was so excited. He said bye to every house when we left. We went around the neighborhood for about 40 minutes and it was starting to get a little to cold. But he got a lot of candy:)

Can't hardly wait to dig into his special treats.

Chris was sweet enough to switch nights with someone so he was able to go trick or treating with us so instead of Kohlton and mommy date night on Thursday night we had it Friday night instead.  We started the night off with Tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. Surprisingly Kohlton loved the tomato soup but didn't eat much of his grilled cheese. Silly boy. We then watched a movie together. I love Kohlton mommy date nights, soon it will be Kohlton, baby sister, mommy date night.

Week 19! Oct 23-29

Hope everyone has had a wonderful week! Here is this weeks update! Everyone who guess a girl (which was the majority) you were spot on :)

The baby's brain is developing its senses this week. The baby can hear our voices now so we will start reading aloud and talk to her. She is developing a waxy protecting coating to help her skin from pickling in the amniotic fluid.  She weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and about 6 inches long.

How far along? 19 weeks

Baby Size of a: Mango

Total Weight Gain: Waiting until next appointment because I think my scale is off.

Maternity Clothes? Everything is maternity now.

Stretch marks? Sadly I'm starting to get little ones on the outside of my right leg. I got them there with Kohlton's pregnancy too.

Sleep? Pretty good, just get uncomfortable very easily.

Best moment this week? We had quite a few! First I've had lots of movements from our little one, especially during church on Sunday. We got our car seat on Monday and Tuesday morning we found out what we are having.

Miss Anything? Absolutely Nothing!!!

Movement? Lots more making it hard to concentrate sometimes. Right now for example, moving like crazy.

Cravings? Kit Kats(which I normally hate) Mint chip ice cream, and pickles. None of these are together in any form :)

Sick? Nope!

Gender: GIRL!!!!!!

Labor Signs? Nope

Symptoms? Feeling pretty good. I did have a headache about all weekend but that was cleared once I went to the chiropractor on Monday morning.

Belly Button in or out? Same as last week still 3/4 the way out.

Wedding ring on or off? Mostly on but sometimes my fingers hurt so it comes off.

Happy or Moody most of the time? I found myself in a pretty good mood this week.

Looking forward to? Buying PINK and figuring out a name :)

She was looking great at the ultrasound measuring right on track! She was very busy during and moved quite a bit. We didn't find out until the very end  of the appointment because the lady couldn't get a great picture for evidence. Finally got one tho.  We are so very happy! Now just have to get our little two bedroom apartment ready for another lady :)

Week 18 Oct. 16-22

Well I just finished the 18th week of pregnancy:) The baby is about 5 1/2 inches long and almost 7 ounces now. The baby is flexing his/her arms and legs which is helping me feel him/her.

How far along? 18 weeks

How big is baby? about the size of a sweet potato

Total Weight Gain? I forgot to weigh myself this morning so I'm not quite sure.

Maternity Clothes? Oh ya almost everything I have is now maternity.

Stretch marks? Still no new ones

Sleep? Amazingly! This last weekend I've been favoring my left side sleeping, which is great because they say left side is best blood flow.

Best moment this week? We got our car seat ordered!  :)  Now I'm just trying to be patient while I wait for it to come.

Miss Anything? Sadly, Alcohol! We went out to eat with some friends and their margaritas looked amazing.  But, I always craved them when I was pregnant with my son.

Movement? Oh ya! The baby has been pushing right up against me tot he point where I have to push him/her back so it doesn't hurt anymore. But, it makes me happy at the same time because I know the baby is okay.

Food Cravings? Crab Ragoons! :) Still!

Anything make you sick? Nothing this week!

Gender? Find out next week!

Labor Signs? Nope!

Symptoms? I've been having headaches and some stomach pains from the baby pushing on me. My back pain has gotten better which I'm truly grateful for at the moment!

Belly Button in or out? This week it has progressed to 3/4 the way out .

Wedding ring on or off? On

Happy or moody most of the time? A little of both this week! But mostly happy tho, I think. lol

Looking forward to? Finding out if we are going to be having a sweet little girl or a handsome little boy! This week is the week!!!  :)

This weekend we got the pleasure of spending time at Chris' dad's house for about 3 days.  Kohlton did amazing! He slept through every night we were there no problem.  We drove down on Thursday and went out for Chinese.

That night Chris told Kohlton that first ting Friday morning we could put up Grandpas electric train and first thing Friday morning Kohlton asked about the train, even before he asked for his morning milk.

Friday Chris spent the day cleaning out some of his stuff in his room and washing the car.  Then Friday night we went out with some friends to a Mexican restaurant. It was so much fun.  Saturday Chris and his dad spent most of the day cleaning out his garage, transforming it back into a garage.  While they were doing that Kohlton and I played outside for a little while in the leaves. We finally got to use the garden tool set that Uncle Danny and Auntie Carley got him for his birthday.

Later, we went to Fort Dodge and went to a apple orchard. We got lots of yummy things. Then Saturday night we went out to a friends house and we got to try some of his homemade root beer. It was delicious!!! We had chili dogs and french fries which I thought would be nauseating but was actually pretty good.  Sunday we ate breakfast and then headed home but first stopped at the orchard again to pick up some last minute things for later. Delicious apples, apple cider, beef sticks, and beef jerky.  We had almost made it home when I looked in the back seat and this is what I found.

He didn't quite make it home. By the way, he has on no pants because on the way home he leaked through them.  :)   We had such a great weekend with "papa".
